LifeLike Abdominal Aorta Model
A branching abdominal aortic model with renal vessels and an aortoiliac bifurcation for practising bypass surgery, vascular clamping, graft placement, vessel repair and anastomosis techniques.
Aortoiliac bypass and open vascular repair training
The LifeLike Abdominal Aorta Model is designed for developing, retaining and assessing basic and advanced open vascular surgical skills in a controlled simulation environment.
The model incorporates a proximal abdominal aortic section positioned above the renal vessel branches and continues into an aortoiliac bifurcation forming the left and right common iliac arteries.
This branching anatomy supports realistic practice of aortoiliac bypass, clamp positioning, graft placement, vessel repair and end-to-end or end-to-side vascular anastomosis. It can be used independently or placed within the LifeLike AAA Abdomen Simulator for a more complete operative training experience.
Training applications
Aortoiliac bypass
Practise planning and constructing a bypass across the abdominal aortic and common iliac vessel anatomy.
Vascular clamping
Develop controlled clamp placement around the aorta, renal branches and iliac vessels while protecting adjacent vessel sections.
Graft placement
Practise graft positioning, orientation and attachment within a branching abdominal vascular configuration.
Vascular anastomosis
Develop end-to-end and end-to-side anastomosis technique, including needle placement, spacing, tissue approximation and tension control.
