A branching synthetic vessel model designed for practising open vena cava repair, complex vascular suturing and vessel-handling techniques in a controlled surgical simulation environment.
Realistic open vena cava repair simulation
The LifeLike Vena Cava Model supports the acquisition, retention and assessment of basic and advanced vascular surgical skills. Its branching vessel structure provides trainees with a practical platform for practising open vena cava repair and complex vascular suturing.
The model represents a central vena cava segment with renal branches and a bifurcation leading into the left and right common iliac vessels. The changing vessel diameters and branching anatomy allow trainees to develop careful tissue handling, incision planning, needle placement and repair technique.
It can be used independently on a suitable mounting surface or incorporated into the LifeLike AAA Abdomen Simulator for a more complete operative training environment.
