Carotid endarterectomy and vascular skills training with realistic bifurcated anatomy
The LifeLike Carotid Artery Model reproduces the common carotid artery branching into the internal and external carotid arteries. Choose the Regular model for vessel handling and vascular suturing or the With Plaque model for carotid endarterectomy training.
LifeLike Carotid Artery Training Model
Designed for vascular surgical education, the LifeLike Carotid Artery provides a practical synthetic vessel model for developing carotid dissection, vessel control, arteriotomy, endarterectomy and vascular closure skills.
Its bifurcated configuration represents the common, internal and external carotid arteries, giving trainees clearly defined vessel branches on which to develop accurate handling and suturing technique.
The model can be used independently on a suitable mounting surface or positioned inside the LifeLike Carotid Head Simulator for a more procedure-focused carotid training setup.
Training applications
Carotid bifurcation handling
Identify and work around the common, internal and external carotid branches while developing controlled vessel handling technique.
Carotid endarterectomy
Use the With Plaque model to practise arteriotomy, plaque removal and subsequent vessel closure in a controlled training environment.
Vascular suturing
Develop needle placement, suture spacing, tissue handling and arteriotomy closure skills across vessels of different diameters.
Choose your model
Carotid Artery – Regular
A bifurcated carotid vessel without simulated plaque. Suitable for carotid anatomy familiarisation, vessel handling, vascular suturing, arteriotomy and reconstruction exercises.
- No simulated plaque
- Common, internal and external carotid branches
- Suitable for basic and advanced vascular skills
- Shopify SKU: LL-TRN-0223-REG
Carotid Artery – With Plaque
Includes a one-inch simulated plaque producing approximately 80% occlusion, providing a dedicated model for carotid endarterectomy and plaque-removal training.
- Approximately 1-inch plaque length
- Approximately 80% simulated occlusion
- Designed for endarterectomy technique development
- Shopify SKU: LL-TRN-0223-PLQ

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two variants?
The Regular model contains no simulated plaque and is suited to vessel handling, suturing and reconstruction exercises. The With Plaque model contains a one-inch simulated plaque producing approximately 80% occlusion for carotid endarterectomy training.
Is the Carotid Head Simulator included?
No. This listing includes one selected carotid artery model only. The Carotid Head Simulator, mounting equipment, instruments and sutures are available separately.
Is this an embedded carotid model?
No. This is a standalone bifurcated vessel. For layered tissue dissection and vessel exposure practice, consider the Embedded Carotid Arteries with Plaque & Dermis Model .
How can the model be secured during training?
The model can be positioned in the LifeLike Carotid Head Simulator or secured to a suitable tissue mounting pad. Both are sold separately.
Which variant is required for plaque-removal training?
Select the With Plaque variant. The Regular option does not contain the simulated occlusive plaque required for endarterectomy exercises.
