Patient-specific kidney cancer model for partial nephrectomy simulation, surgical planning and urology education.
Overview
The PraticMed Kidney Cancer Anatomical Training Model is produced from anatomical reconstructions derived from patient DICOM data. It recreates renal cortex, medulla and a renal cell carcinoma mass using materials with differing tactile properties.
The model supports tumour localisation, resection-margin planning, partial nephrectomy practice and pre-operative anatomical orientation in a controlled training environment.
Key features
- Patient-specific anatomy reconstructed from DICOM data
- 1:1 anatomical scale
- Distinct cortical, medullary and tumour structures
- Cuttable parenchyma for resection and margin assessment
- Multiple tumour locations and stages may be available
- Durable construction intended for repeated training sessions
Training applications
- Urology resident education
- Partial nephrectomy simulation
- Surgical planning and case preparation
- Pre-operative anatomical orientation
- Oncological surgery training programmes
Specifications
- High-resolution SLA resin is used for rigid anatomical structures.
- Multi-layer medical-grade silicone is used to represent renal parenchyma and tumour tissue.
- Colour coding distinguishes the cortex, medulla and tumour.
